Looking at the full releases list again, I see that I must have been remembering
the 10.0.1 release in particular, because that was pretty close to 11.0.0. And
both 10.0.1 and 11.0.0 were a bit later than previous releases.

Historically, it seems major LLVM releases happen roughly every 6 months:

11.0.0: 2020-10-12
10.0.1: 2020-08-06
10.0.0: 2020-03-24
 9.0.1: 2019-12-20
 9.0.0: 2019-09-19
 8.0.1: 2019-07-19
 8.0.0: 2019-03-20
 7.0.1: 2018-12-21
 7.0.0: 2018-09-19
 6.0.1: 2018-07-05
 5.0.2: 2018-05-16
 6.0.0: 2018-03-08
 5.0.1: 2017-12-21
 5.0.0: 2017-09-07
 4.0.0: 2017-03-13
 (it goes on in the same vein, even further back)

The release dates before 10.0.0 appear to be fairly regular, e.g. major releases
in March and September, followed by minor releases in July and December. So
roughly a release every three months.

I guess you can't always have extremely predictable dates, because of, well,
unknown unknowns and such. :) But aiming for the cadence that we had from 4.0.0
through 9.0.1 would be nice.

Concretely, having 11.0.1 at the end of December, and 12.0.0 in early March.
