Do you have any idea what the diff is though? The script tries hard to
build and compare in a way that should make the builds compare equal.

Checked the log again, seems like it's always the first bytes. But judging
from the rest of the conversation this is fixed in the script.

That's right. I used to get those diffs and now I don't get any more,
as diff is ignoring the first bytes.

If you use trunk's test-release.sh, it should be diff-less. :)

All changes in the script will be back-ported to 3.7 branch.
