LightDM - Feb 2022 - running a setup-script over an XDMCP connection

Hi,

I am trying to run a bash script before the LightDM Greeter loads using the
variable:

greeter-setup-script=/path/to/script

The script runs a simple Zenity dialog

This works when I login from the server, however when I try to login from
an XDMCP connection - it won't even connect. Looking at the log, it shows
that the script returned with an exit status of 1 and then failed to load
the greeter.

If I remove the script from the lightdm.conf file, the XDMCP connection
works fine.

I have also tried display-setup-script & session-setup-script with the same
result. The XDMCP connection fails.

Is there something that I am missing here?
