All LightDM gurus, first, many thanks for this SW piece. I'm just trying v1.4.0 (with lightdm-gtk-1.3.1), and when I can ask for some details which i'm not able configure: - how display (at login screen) all available users? In login window\ I see only one line with last logged-in user - how I can display users which accounts are in LDAP directory (not only these from /etc/passwd) - when I see in login rows, at login window, user full names (GECOS in /etc/passwd), is there any way (e.g. when move mouse cursor over this users line) how uncover users login name? (sometimes login names are totally different from GECOS names, and for administration (not only) purposes would be this very nice) - at upper LightDM greeter graphical panel, in right corner, I see two icons: one for impaired peoples which at right click offers "large fonts" or "high contrast", and quite on right icon which look as switch and IMO should offer things as shutdown / reboot / hibernate etc. But this icon does nothing - left click is without response, right click does nothing too. Also, should be there any keyboard shortcuts for this poweroff etc action? - at login screen I see users which names are listed in "/etc/lightdm/users.conf" in "hidden-users=" list. It is sort of some my mistake? - when is possible display individual users at login screen, is possible display its thumbnails? TIA for all recommendations. Franta Hanzlik

Some more answers:> - how I can display users which accounts are in LDAP directory (not > only these from /etc/passwd)>From what I understand people currently using LDAP just disable theuser list and have a simple username/password entry (as Yves-Alexis pointed out how to enable). LightDM provides the list of available users using either AccountsService (if available) or using the getpwent syscall. AccountsService also uses getpwent afaik. If you can configure your system to provide LDAP users via this syscall (which I've seen indications is possible) then you should see your LDAP list. The other option is to have the greeter be able to access this list directly and not use the list from LightDM.> - when I see in login rows, at login window, user full names (GECOS > in /etc/passwd), is there any way (e.g. when move mouse cursor over > this users line) how uncover users login name? (sometimes login > names are totally different from GECOS names, and for administration > (not only) purposes would be this very nice)lightdm-gtk-greeter does not do this currently, you should file a bug at http://launchpad.net/lightdm-gtk-greeter if you want this feature.> Also, should be there any keyboard shortcuts for this poweroff etc > action? This would require the greeter to intercept these keys, again you will need to file a bug.> - when is possible display individual users at login screen, is > possible display its thumbnails?Ditto.
