LightDM - May 2011 - g_dbus_connection_real_closed when starting lightdm

Hi,

I made the switch from KDE4->XFCE, and because gdm takes more time
than xfce to start I would like to replace it with lightdm.
I installed lightdm, set it as default display manager and configured
the gtk greeter.
However, when I start I only get a black screen (x running) and
nothing else happens.

When I start it as root with the --test-mode argument, I get the
following message:
lightdm --test-mode -c /etc/lightdm.conf
g_dbus_connection_real_closed: Remote peer vanished with error:
Underlying GIOStream returned 0 bytes on an async read
(g-io-error-quark, 0). Exiting.
Failed to get system bus


Any idea what could be the problem?

Seems to be the same.

Is there anything I can do to debug this issue?
Will other greeters (e.g. webkit) work?
