I'm not sure how the changed preseed file breaks somethign inside c-api. I
tried
running the tests locally, but it seems like 'make' somehow got caught
into an
endless loop using supermin (Archlinux amd64 here).

Can you send me tests/c-api/test-suite.log?

Give it some time, it's probably building the appliance. It is resolving
package dependencies and running pacman over and over again. It seems
like an endless loop, but really, give it some time. :)
