Hi, I have an ADSL connection (PPPOE via rp-pppoe) and currently I am using the Ultimate Script from the Howto. Recently these messages started to show up. What is the problem and where can I find more info to correct this -- Togan Muftuoglu Unusual System Events =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-Feb 23 20:00:04 gardiyan kernel: CBQ delay 207210 > 10sec Feb 23 20:00:04 gardiyan kernel: CBQ delay 207174 > 10sec Feb 23 20:00:04 gardiyan last message repeated 2 times Feb 23 20:00:05 gardiyan kernel: CBQ delay 207108 > 10sec Feb 23 20:00:06 gardiyan kernel: CBQ delay 207007 > 10sec Feb 23 20:00:08 gardiyan kernel: CBQ delay 206870 > 10sec Feb 23 20:00:09 gardiyan kernel: CBQ delay 206671 > 10sec Feb 23 20:00:09 gardiyan last message repeated 2 times Feb 23 20:00:11 gardiyan kernel: CBQ delay 206471 > 10sec Feb 23 20:00:16 gardiyan kernel: NET: 4 messages suppressed. This message indicates that CBQ calculated how long it had to throttle itself, and that the calculation was very bogus. Devik, the HTB guy, is an expert in these things. Normally CBQ doesn''t show these errors though. Devik? Devik, the HTB >guy, is an expert in these things.I am using the script with kernel 2.2-19 (SuSE precompiled kernel) ( The box is the firewall/proxy machine for the DMZ and Local Lan, and this is the first time I ever got a warning on CBQ. The script is the same the connection speed is the same actually everything is the same. The ADSL link is static and if the Telecom does not f...k the connection stays 5-6 days and for some reason I have not figured the Telecom resets the connection which is up again in a 5 secs. The only thing I have noticed is the amount of Nimda requests has increased for the last week and the last 4 days it has been pain with the Turkish websites which I had to block them all as networks of /16 or /23. Being a Turk I find this a bit of irony -:) -- Togan Muftuoglu
I don''t know the Ultimate script but should not it be DOWNLINK=240kbit ? Attach please tc -s -d class show dev XXX output ... Probably you set too small bandwidth (Bert is probably thinking about the same reason :) devik On Mon, 25 Feb 2002, Togan Muftuoglu wrote:> * bert hubert; <ahu@ds9a.nl> on 25 Feb, 2002 wrote: > >What kind of bandwidth do you have it configured for? > > # The Ultimate Setup For Your Internet Connection At Home > # > # > # Set the following values to somewhat less than your actual download > # and uplink speed. There is only reason - too small rate or too big minburst .. I suggested the original poster to send us tc -s class show, then we will see :) devik

Well, it is not the case. :-[ Here I have to say that I have no idea. The only way will be massive debugging. All setting seems to be ok except maxidle 23us which seems to be too small. But not neccessarily .. with this high speed. Seems like next candidate to cbq''s list of weird behaviour :( devik> >Attach please tc -s -d class show dev XXX output ...
