Thanks Tom.
The <nowiki> tag solved the problem. I was aware of <pre> and
<code>
tags, but they required changes to fonts size. The <nowiki> handles my
specific issues.

John

John,
I''ve had this problem, and its solution is NOT documented at the
Instiki
wiki, I believe. You do not say exactly how you''re trying to prevent
the
formatting, and knowing that would be helpful.
I''ve always solved the problem by trying each of these tags:
<pre>
<code>
<nowiki>. They cause different formatted responses, of course (would you
can change to a degree with some CSS fiddling (except <nowiki>
can''t be
affected by that, I believe). Sometimes one will work where the others
will not.
But the big secret seems to be to split up the tagging. As I recall,
something like this <code>C++</code> won''t work, but
something like this
will: <code>C</code><code>++</code>.
You have to approach it empirically. To me, the logic behind this is a
bit
opaque.
