Answering a question with a question. I do not know if dir.xiph.org is included as a standard for internet radio appliances. Or is included in searches made from other sites. I am only interested in servicing users who may also use my email server, who will provide IP addresses that have been white-listed here for URL auth. Now can you provide an answer to my question?> > > -- > > ************************************************************************ > > * Dave Serls Littleton, CO, USA > > * > > * dashs.denver.co.us http://www.dashs.com > > * > > ************************************************************************ > > _______________________________________________ > > Icecast mailing list > > Icecast at xiph.org > > http://lists.xiph.org/mailman/listinfo/icecast > _______________________________________________ > Icecast mailing list > Icecast at xiph.org > http://lists.xiph.org/mailman/listinfo/icecast-- ************************************************************************ * Dave Serls Littleton, CO, USA * * dashs.denver.co.us http://www.dashs.com * ************************************************************************

Personally I've seen probably 70% of user questions for projects that I'm involved in arrive at solutions that were different from the original technical question setting. So while answering a question with a question maybe doesn't feel very nice, I can understand why Marvin did so. My answer would probably have been "Not really, but could you explain…" In your case we'd probably suggest to address this possible use-case in a different way. If you'd be interested in actually solving your issue instead of an answer to one particular technical aspect that is.> Now can you provide an answer to my question? No, we kindly ask you not to attempt to list streams that need authentication of any kind. The directory is intended for freely accessible streams. Also we would prefer if people wouldn't list geo-blocked streams. Currently there are a quite a few and we're working on addressing this. As a matter of fact, Marvin helped me to implement URL auth on #icecast, if his handle is "ePirat".
