Hello. I want to know how I can put files (mp3s or oggs) on my webserver, make a plsylist and stream them directly from the webserver. I had found an apps witch could do that on the old website, but not on the new one.. I also want to know what app you advise me for stream mp3s to a icecast server (in ogg) under linux. Because I've seen DSP for winamp, but no apps for streaming from a linux mp3/ogg player. Sorry for my poor english Regards Ruben

--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Have your visitors click on the .m3u link, they'll download it and start their favorite player, which then plays the .ogg/.mp3 directly off the web server.
Moritz --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Or try something like www.freedomaudio.com or www.jcraft.com/jorbis . Neither are flawless; jOrbis' quality lacks a little bit but it's small. FreedomAudio is big, but it uses an x86 binary in which a java applet controls its function, so quality is just-about on-par with the normal library.
FreedomAudio currently lacks Linux support, but I've been working with the author off-and-on, and it's almost ready to be released (AFAIK). When that is, I don't know. I suppose it's when the author does a little more, or I submit another beta-testing report. :) ~HJ __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
