Hello Remco, I found these decumentations before but they say nothing about setting the start time and end time of each mp3 file entry in the .m3u file Best Regards - Johann "Remco B. I'm not sure but it should be possible even Real Networks and Microsoft support this feature in their playlist definitions to set the start time and end time of each file. In the Winamp documentation is at least the length of the file specified which starts always at the 0 and plays to the length of nnn seconds. [playlist] File1=Alternative\everclear - SMFTA.mp3 Title1=Everclear - So Much For The Afterglow Length1=233 Some mp3 file have bad quality or no sound at the beginning or at the end. Instead of cutting and editing the file I would like to set the start and end time in a dynamic generated .m3u file Best Regards - Johann "Remco B. Hi there. Since there's nearly no documentation on this subject: Am I able to stream mp3s via icecast2? Please don't tell me that ogg is the better file format. I won't recode thousands of files.. If Icecast2 _can_ stream mp3s: Should I switch from icecast1? Why? Thanks, Ben -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I won't recode >thousands of files..mp3 support in icecast2 is very good at this point. It has pretty much everything that icecast1 did as far as "mp3 support" goes. and no, you don't need to recode your mp3s, in fact, that's strongly "not recommended". You'll need to find a source client that supports sending mp3 data to icecast2 (it's not the same as sending mp3 data to icecast1) and alot of the major source clients support this (at least the ones that support icecast2). oddsock <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
