By the way, Melanie - I forgot to tell you, but your patch (with some 
significant changes) is now integrated.

It should do this - connect new listeners to the fallback source if the main 
source is down - but I haven't really tested it. The changes neccesary for 
integrating your features were significant enough that I might well have 
broken it.

it was a small bug causing new listeners not to be sent to the fallback 
source if the main source was down...I've fixed it in CVS and I've
tested
the basic fallback logic and it does work very well so far...

Is it a complicate patch?
If not, I may put it in my version of icecast kh22, which has now
fallback-override
