Hi- I am having issues with the Samba share on my Gluster volume. I can list the share from a windows box with \\servername<file:///\\servername>, but when I try to access the share itself, I get "Windows cannot access \\servername\sharename<file:///\\servername\sharename>" and gives the error code: 0x80070043. However, I was able to mount the volume to /mnt/nearline and then share that directory with Samba successfully. This is the entry for the share in the smb.conf file: [gluster-nearline] vfs objects = glusterfs glusterfs:logfile = /var/log/samba/glusterfs-nearline.%M.log writeable = yes path = / glusterfs:loglevel = 7 comment = For samba share of volume nearline glusterfs:volume = nearline public = yes browsable = yes Thanks in advance, Jason -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Hello, Minor problem: Can you tell us what operating system, Samba version and Gluster version you are using? For Samba problems in general, I recommend looking at the samba logs, first, seeing if the problem is recorded in the logs, if not, cranking the log level to 10, then trying again. If the problem is there, look at it a moment, and see if it makes sense. Thanks for responding, sorry about the oversight. I am using CentOS 7, Samba 4.1.1, and Gluster 3.6.2. I have looked through the logs and found the problem. The glusterfs.so vfs module was missing for samba. I googled the package name and installed it with yum. After I restarted the samba server, I was able to access the auto-generated share as expected. Thanks for your help, I just needed a nudge in the right direction! ________________________________________ From: Ira Cooper [ira at redhat.com] Sent: Monday, March 30, 2015 3:57 PM To: Jason Hilton Cc: gluster-users at gluster.org Subject: Re: [Gluster-users] Samba share problem Hello, Minor problem: Can you tell us what operating system, Samba version and Gluster version you are using?
