I see this is the standard recommendation for those of us using SMP. I am wondering how far away we are from that becoming standard, since on even amd64, I see the older scheduler is still in place? Brian

I've been using it since 7.0-PRERELEASE and have had no problems with it, though it is slower than 4BSD for some very specific workloads (ffmpeg with multiple threads). Josh
