freebsd stable - Jun 2003 - savecore no longer works ... /kernel version mismatch

'k, now one of my other machines is getting the same thing on a crash:

savecore: warning: /kernel version mismatch:    "FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE #2: Fri

It was working, last successful savecore on that machine was Jun 6th:

nothing in /etc/rc.conf has changed:

Last one on pluto (the one I originally reported) was on May 28th:

savecore and kernel are from the same build/install:

I haven't modified my /etc/make.conf build settings, nor my kernel
settings, in awhile:
