I am trying to do an install of portupgrade. As root, I go to /usr/ports/sysutils/portupgrade and run make install distclean The system seems to obtain the pkgtools and some upgrades to it, but is unable to obtain the required bdb1-0.1.8.tar.gz. I have also looked at the collection at the freebsd site and tried the ftp site myself (<ftp://moulon.inra.fr/pub/ruby/bdb1-0.1.8.tar.gz>ftp://moulon.inra.fr/pub/ruby/bdb1-0.1.8.tar.gz) and also cannot get in for some unknown reason. Is there any way to obtain this required file? I also sent this message to knu@freebsd.org who is the maintainer and hopefully this list or he will answer. A related, but different question has to do with /stand/sysinstall. When I use that to try to obtain packages from an ftp site, every site says that it doesn't have 4.8-STABLE which is the version I am running. Are the ftp sites not up-to-date? Thanks... __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo http://search.yahoo.com
I take it since there was no response to my previous questions that no one has any answers. OK, does anyone know where I might get some answers. I am relatively new at this, but it would seem that the portupgrade prgram would be something that everyone would want to use. It sounds like it automates the upgrade process significantly and I wonder how it gets compiled if one of its components seems to be out of reach. And likewise my other question dealing with the ftp sites is perplexing. Thanks... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Have you sent a note to the ruby maintainer- knu@freebsd.org? 1. Try settting your Release Name (Custom->Optinos->Release Name) option to 4.8-RELEASE jpb ===
