Egation Communications is offering a compelling and rewarding career
opportunity for a highly-talented, motivated, and energetic Unix/Linux
System Administrator with 2-5 years of experience with FreeBSD in a hosted
environment.  The selected candidate will provide system support (including
hardware, OS, software applications, and networking) for Egation?s back-end
systems as well as to customers with the overall goal of resolving all
verbal and written customer inquiries while meeting service standards, goals
and objectives.  The System Administrator must display a rigorous work ethic
and thrive in an unstructured, dynamic environment.  Additionally, even
though this is a defined shift schedule, the position will require schedule
flexibility as dictated by customer needs.

		Duties Summary:
*	Resolves operational issues with systems, partners, and vendors.
*	Performs problem determination and resolution.
*	Performs quality assurance role for all customer assignments.
*	Creates/reviews/publishes documentation communicating technical
information of systems, configuration, and customer issues.
*	Ensures all production activities are monitored and completed efficiently.
*	Trains the operations team on configurations and support requirements.
*	Handles escalated customer issues.
*	Participates in audits, and works with management to establish or revise
procedures and processes as necessary.
*	Maintains an effective working relationship by recognizing the needs of
others and keeping all lines of communication open.
*	Maintains a working knowledge of all products, processes and systems.
*	Installs and configures approved software as requested by Customers.
*	Performs other duties as assigned

		Required Experience / Special Skills
*	Minimum 2-5 years of demonstrated FreeBSD system administration
experience.
*	Extensive knowledge of all supported applications such as Qmail, DNS, SQL,
PHP, CGI, and other applications.
*	Excellent problem solving skills.
*	Advanced DNS administration.
*	Software compilation and installation experience especially where multiple
dependencies exist between various applications.
*	Strong network knowledge.
*	Must possess a high degree of technical knowledge and analytical ability
to solve the most complex operations problems with minimal supervision.
*	Must have the ability to grasp new technical information quickly.
*	Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in a stressful environment.
*	Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment and the ability to effectively
respond and resolve issues.
*	Thorough knowledge of process and procedures associated with all aspects
of the operations support role.
