Greetings, It was about three years ago when I started chasing Keith Packard to review my git branch of fontconfig. Eventually, I was transferred maintainership in June 2009 [1], moving my 190 commits into the upstream repo. Past six months have felt like the same, except that Akira TAGOH has been chasing, and I''ve been promising reviews that never happen. So, I believe it is time for me to step down and leave this baby in the capable hands of Akira. I expect him to make a few mistakes here and there initially, like I did (hell, I made a few totally broken releases!), but I''m confident that this will bring some much-needed attention to fontconfig. If I ever come back to fontconfig, it will be to rewrite it! Akira, if you don''t already have, please apply for fdo SSH access and fontconfig group membership. You are the man now! Cheers, behdad [1] http://mces.blogspot.com/2009/06/if-you-see-keith-packard-say-hello.html
It is good news that you have found a new expert for fontconfig maintenance. Hi Behdad, Thank you for giving me a great opportunity and the kindly email announcing the change of the maintainership. what I''m waiting for reviews isn''t more than what you had experienced in the past but I believe my initiative would helps a lot of people who are also waiting for bug fixes and improvements. I hope and I''ll do my best to not make any mistakes :) Once the transfer is done, I''ll start to prepare the next release, hopefully in a few weeks. Thanks so much.
