Fontconfig - Dec 2010 - [fdo] Time to kill the fontconfig wiki?

Looking at http://www.fontconfig.org/wiki/TitleIndex I see it's around
99.9% pure spam.   Other than the front page, virtually everything else
is the moin-moin boilerplate or the hundreds of pages of spam.   Even the
Recent Changes & Find Page links have been overwritten by spammers hundreds
of times, with the spammers fighting each other to crap on it most recently.
(I restored them both this week, but expect that to not last long.)

Would fontconfig be better served by a static web page?  (Maybe even one
with, dare I say it, nice fonts?)   Or should the wiki just be purged and
set up fresh with greater levels of access control?

Sacrificing collaboration because of the spammers (moving to static pages) seems
undesirable :(  Are there options to make it more secure?  Improving security is
probably a good investment.

Can you find a single page in the fontconfig wiki that anyone has ever
collaborated on?    Other than the front page, which is locked, the only
other pages in the wiki about fontconfig itself are the old release notes
that Keith posted years ago.

If it was actually being used, like some of the other wiki's on freedesktop,
I would suggest better policing - we greatly reduced spam in some of the
other wikis by simply nuking it quickly so that the spammers moved on to
targets like fontconfig where their spam lasted longer, and by keeping the
spam words blacklist updated to block the domains they were trying to link to.

The fdo wiki is so attractive to spammers that I gave up on fighting for
fribidi.  Yes, please kill it.  I suggest we forward the domain to
http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/Fontconfig instead.  That's what
I'm
doing with harfbuzz.org.
