Josh replied with the method of uncompressing FLAC.
I strongly recommend Ogg Vorbis. It has many advantages over AAC, MP3,
MP3+, WMA, etc as a lossy codec. Please read more at http://www.vorbis.com .
I use Ogg Vorbis for many of the same reasons I use FLAC for lossless
compression.
