flac dev - Dec 2016 - Facebook page for FLAC

I'm one of the co-admins of the Facebook page for FLAC.
15 hours ago, I posted a message giving a vague "heads up" that a new
release is on the way.

Since then there have been 3 shares, 6 comments, 128 likes and 4451
people reached. That's slightly more than the page's audience.

That's more than what the previous release announcement (from November
2014) got.

That's great! I reckon when the release happens someone should also make a
Hacker News post and maybe also certain sub-reddits would like to know about it.

This might be overkill, but we could also set up a Facebook Event for
the next release. It would be of absolutely no benefit to FLAC, but it
might help to spread the word a bit further.

We would need to have some advance notice.

The post on HydrogenAudio has pre1 in the subject line; there isn't any
need to 'bump' that to pre3, but a separate thread for the actual
release would stand out better for regular forum users and for Web
searches.

If any Bandcamp developers are on this list, can we get a blog post or
other announcement (through the many channels that Bandcamp has built up
over the years to artists and fans)?
