Ug, I could have sworn I looked at this and it was OK, but now I see
it is not :-( I could have sworn I tested this but I must have
goofed something in my test. Maybe forgot to remove the local
/etc/passwd entry or something.
Username - I''d like to have a Posix username like "amckay",
but a wiki
username like AlanMcKay
I guess it all goes by the "User ID" field from the main page.
My problem is that I have existing wikis so need usernames like
WIkiNames. I tested this and it works fine with the apache ldap auth
module.
But I''d also like to keep the existing Posix usernames. Though I
guess in a pinch I could easily switch existing Posix usernames over
to a wikiname. But I''m certain I''ll have a lot of complaints
about
it.
Is there anything I can do here?

I''ll have to look into Trac authentication to see if it can do the same. -- “Don''t eat anything you''ve ever seen advertised on TV” - Michael Pollan, author of "In Defense of Food"

Re: [389-users] ug, a snag. Posix Username vs WikiName
Your wiki may be able to map other LDAP attributes to wikiname (for example, you may have uid=amckay and cn=AlanMcKay)... 2009/12/7 Alan McKay <alan.mckay@gmail.com>:>> Which wiki? Even if I get everything else converted and that ends up being the only system that still has its own password, it will be a pretty huge improvement over what we have now. Now I''m off to check on Kerio mail server ...
