dtrace discuss - Dec 2006 - getting host computer name from within a zone

Hi all,

maybe i''m wrong here but...
In a zone i would like to get the name of the host-computer.
Is this possible with dtrace and/or did that someone before.

Any hints/scripts would be very much appreciated.

I believe Zones were designed to prevent this.  You might be able to do
it anyway if you can get the dtrace_kernel privilege, but I''m not sure
if that''s possible in a zone, and if it is it certainly isn''t
the
default.
