It remains, however, a hard and critical problem (Eric Boehm''s
request here last week is a classic example of what customers and 
Support Engineers encounter). 

Prior to FireEngine/Yosemite, attempts were made to solve this
problem via STREAMS flow-tracing. Would it be a viable solution to
resurrect/build-upon the existing flow-tracing concepts and use sdt
on top of that, to provide a first-attempt at this?
