dtrace discuss - Aug 2006 - backport of dtrace to S9 ?

hi,
  How painful or joyful would it be to port dtrace to S9 ?
 (seriously) ;-)

  I work in Sustaining, and we have enough customers running S8/S9 
that it''d be nice to have dtrace in one''s root-cause-arsenal.

Painful.  (S8 would be impossible).

Note that in many cases, dtrace can analyze problems on S10, and the
fixes can be used to get better performance on earlier releases.

You could also encourage people to upgrade to S10. =]
