dovecot - Dec 2008 - Horde IMP w/ dovecot folder list

Hi!

I'm using dovecot-1.1.7, Horde-3.3.2 and IMP-4.3.2.

The left-side folder list has some folders, whos names contains 
localized (non-ascii) characters. This is displayed correctly when I 
select the "English (American)" language entry on the login page from 
the dropdown menu. But when I choose my locale, which is "Magyar" 
(Hungarian), the folders won't display the correct characters. It's like
this:

With "English (American)" locale:
?gyf?l

With "Magyar" locale:
&ANw-gyf&AOk-l

The latter is the same displaying as with the folder's name on the 
filesystem:
# ls -1 user/Maildir/
[...]
.&ANw-gyf&AOk-l/
[...]

I've sent this message to imp@ but, they say it is a problem with my 
mailserver, which I suspected, because the wrong folder names are 
exactly the same as the folder names on the filesystem.
Is there any way to solve this?

Dovecot doesn't know what locale you've selected from IMP. If it works
with one and doesn't with other, it's clearly an IMP bug.

This is correct. IMAP uses modified UTF-7 character set for the mailbox
names.

I can't understand why they would do that. It's clearly an IMP bug.
