dovecot - Sep 2007 - Dovecot Periodically Stops Authenticating Users

Hi,

It seems that my dovecot installation periodically stops  
authenticating users. Restarting dovecot resolves the issue  
temporarily. I'm authenticating via PAM to OpenLDAP on a CentOS 4  
box. I've seen several related posts about this issue but no resolution.

My logs show:
Sep 15 03:58:24 server01 dovecot: imap-login: Can't connect to auth  
server at default: Resource temporarily unavailable
Sep 15 03:58:24 server01 dovecot: imap-login: Can't connect to auth  
server at default: Resource temporarily unavailable


And my configuration is:
/usr/sbin/dovecot --version
1.0.3
/usr/sbin/dovecot -n

Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks!

I too am seeing this problem but I am using mysql to do the auth. I posted here
a few days ago but so far received no replies. If you find a solution I would
appreciate hearing about it. FIWI I am on 1.0.3.

Are you also using nss_ldap? See
