There is no reason why this shouldn''t work without any changes to
OpenSolaris.

Xen supports delegating any pci device (or pci function in a
multifunction device) to DomU for direct access.
>From there, native NIC driver (Crossbow or "legacy" GLDv3) in
Solaris
guest should run on the delegated NIC device as if it were running on
non-virtualized Solaris system with dedicated NIC.

Dom0 can still control Vlan membership and other "privileged"
operations
on interfaces delegated to DomU, assuming this privileged interface is
implemented in NIC vendor''s Dom0 driver and hardware.

Hi Jordan,

 

It seems your requirement is Direct IO or Direct Harware Access, which 

allows to assign a hardware to a Guest OS.

 

This feature is still under development, and will be support in
OpenSolaris.

Unfortunately this isn''t the case.

Dom0 requires updated tools and a PCI backend driver to manage the
delegation of the devices. That''s not done yet.
