compiz - Oct 2007 - SuSE 10.3 + compiz = No Video from Kaffeine or Mplayer

Guys,

	I discovered today that I cannot play video on the compiz desktop with
either kaffeine or mplayer. Both start, but both just show a black
screed where the video is supposed to be. Can somebody point me to a
link that describes how to cure it? Thanks.

	Switching back to kwin and the both play fine.

You need to either switch to the x11 output device for those players or use a 
patched version of mplayer which works with the video playback plugin for 
compiz.  A patch against RC2 of mplayer was sent to this list this past 
Monday, in fact.
