I hear that backuppc does *not* have a native *Doze client. On the other hand, I know amanda's been around a long time, and it does. Opinions on amanda, folks? mark
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It works for me. I have three USB disks which are configured as 10 "tape" slots on each. I back up every few days to the disk, and about once a month take the disk into work and bring the oldest one back. Obviously the disk at home doesn't protect me against fire or theft, but it does protect against disk failure. I have not used Amanda's *Doze client, only mildly using smbclient, so I don't know if there are issues there. I don't presently have any MS-Windows machines that need regular backups.> > mark > > _______________________________________________ > CentOS mailing list > CentOS at centos.org > http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos > >-- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Custom Software Services http://www.deepsoft.com/ -- Linux Administration Services heller at deepsoft.com -- Webhosting Services

At one time, the prepacked rsyncd client did not work on Win7 and later, but I think that was fixed. Otherwise, install "full" cygwin and follow the instructions for the prepacked rsyncd client. Would mobaxterm handle rsync OK? The only reason I ask is that it certainly works with Win7. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (GNU/Linux) iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJVptm9AAoJEAF3yXsqtyBlVfEQAJqh3K6YDKf9M6NxyzVcRo+h n5Pr9LGEWny2fZjPdY8lz1LVoYvxdSATvgkaWky+LQXL7605dcUhM0pTQ9s1Tle4 zreAfdNpG3jxD3u5+X/n2s4WDvk7kADP+9WU2G1Vxakq2cC9pAkvBX8FEVfBy7Qe jxJfPg3RSSR2jl8Xy2W2guTmDUvlBMI95QEexsXVFtnhAC4+8HS51qCz96HelAy3 SXcDe6EppEEhZoIjpD/EWKf+oxht5Gq3QP+m6iujkOvjK/n6ySX5+pxKSo3fWnrv QhgN96wM26wq12BE5RnkVDFStVGrJXj4j7zdoJpgdGoTQF/ZZNihQp3gJg/TxSR/ X/kbNzvPbwte69KWb44TfHe6+hPp4ebchfwJbeaofxKrlftrcxeEAHqOEzYVwaN0 Lzg+orPlnuZfe1CwpbZlhx7U9eYYAFbdxkkk+/ScT7JpeyHpftWDa4Qf/qWq4Pnw aXuTfxA9MN8rwqWe6PiwHhTGfBgjHgJPkKpt8JJIv3s799EcMDj7kds52UT9y0mn GuyX3e8KQDQWS0IYjjVG7DzxBBYraZsfr03oD9pf88pfcdZxIlZBMuT27ixXW2BW NdZ+QujeqNrp5yDxjppnnw8LjbsUgGTtpsbSb22aMeLxhopH3Mw365oXr5smJ4xn zx6CCr2SkUeq31jU4B0j =nNex -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
