I am currently using Virtual PC 2007 to install/configure CentOS 4.5. I've got the O/S installed ok. However since running a yum update, I can no longer successfully complete an init 5 boot. Virtual PC gives an internal error 13 message. If I boot to init 3, I can reconfigure the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and run 'startx' manually without any problems. If I then shutdown the Virtual PC and restart, it will not boot to init 5. Anyone seen this before and can offer any assistance? TIA, Rab. ==========================================================Robert Jackson Phone: +44 (0) 141 332 7999 Software Engineer Fax: +44 (0) 141 331 2820 Walker Martyn Ltd 1 Park Circus Place Email: rab at walkermartyn.co.uk Glasgow G3 6AH, Scotland Web: http://www.walkermartyn.co.uk ========================================================== ************************************************************************ The information in this internet E-mail is confidential and is intended solely for the addressee. Virtual PC gives an internal error 13 message.Did ya re-compile the VM Additions for Linux after doing a yum update? If a new kernel was installed you'll need new VM Additions drivers!> If I boot to init 3, I can reconfigure the /etc/X11/xorg.conf > file and run 'startx' > manually without any problems. > > If I then shutdown the Virtual PC and restart, it will not > boot to init 5. > > Anyone seen this before and can offer any assistance? > > > TIA, > Rab. > =========================================================== > Robert Jackson Phone: +44 > (0) 141 332 7999 > Software Engineer Fax: +44 > (0) 141 331 2820 > Walker Martyn Ltd > 1 Park Circus Place Email: > rab at walkermartyn.co.uk > Glasgow G3 6AH, Scotland Web: > http://www.walkermartyn.co.uk <http://www.walkermartyn.co.uk> > =========================================================== > > ************************************************************** > ********** > > The information in this internet E-mail is confidential and > is intended solely for the addressee.
