Hi, because I''m used to apt based distro''s like Debian and I also use it with Fedora, I wondered if I could use apt/synaptic on Centos 4.2 and if somebody could post his sources.list for the repo''s that are availabel through apt. thanks! The syntax for yum is similar to apt, so it should be reasonably easy for you to pick up. Many of the external repositories you''ll find use yum heavily. If you''re not completely comfortable with yum, there''s documentation for it on the centos site, and there''s a gui called yumex that is available also. -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety'''' Benjamin Franklin 1775

It also now has repomd support. I have the new apt available from: http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/ These are tagged as test-packages, so you cannot get them automatically (yet). I have received very good feedback and i''m waiting for Panu to make a new release before I can replace the old ones. I also patched synaptic to understand the repomd support that apt now has. So if you''re using the new synaptic, you only require the new (currently test) apt to start using it. Let me know if you have problems. As soon as I release the apt with repomd support, synaptic will be build against that. The benefit of the new apt is certainly that we can finally phase out the old apt repository format. Really appreciate the work you put in your repo and I''ve been using it for years now with great content, A real thanks for that Dag!
