I''ve noticed this question gets asked at least once or twice a day.
Personally, I recommend clean installs for any OS. Upgrades always
present problems. But there have been sucessful attempts to upgrade
from RH 7, 8, 9, EL2 & 3, Fedora 1, 2, 3 & CentOS2 & 3 ->
CentOS4.
But if you are going to do an upgrade, I would suggest getting a dev
system and configuring it with FC1 just like your production server
and test upgrading. Never, never, never try to do something without
testing first.
I''ve learned in business it''s always good to have dev systems
where
stuff gets tested out first. Also, always have a backout plan so you
can get back to where you started from.
