Does the latest CentOS (or RHES4 for that matter) support the 3ware 9000 RAID cards out of the box? Has anybody compiled these drivers and has them in a diskette format ready to use in an install? I''d like to install CentOS on a dual Xeon server but had troubles last time around whith getting these drivers working. Thanks in advance, -- Adrian Madrid HyperX Inc. 3Ware drivers have been in the mainstream kernel for quite some time (I believe they were even in the 2.4.2X kernels in EL3). That''s very good news. As soon as it finishes DL I''ll give it a try. You have to compile them yourself: http://www.3ware.com/kb/article.aspx?id=11843 The perl script that''s linked in that knowledge base article won''t work on boxes with update 4 so you''ll have to compile the drivers manually.

The 3w_9xxx kernel module works flawlessly supporting this card, and it was included with CentOS 4. One of the reasons I chose CentOS 4 was due to its support for the card. I assume it would work for all 3ware 9xxx series cards. Hope this helps, Shawn

You are right to note that the driver is included in the 2.6 kernel series (but not older than 2.6.9) and also in Centos 4 and RHEL4 as well.
