[Centos] Serious problem with Centos-4 Samba (possible glibc
When trying to use CentOS-4 as Samba PDC server, the nmbd daemon print this error message to its log file /var/log/samba/nmbd.log: *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x08bfc970 *** After this point this is impossible to log in to the domain. This seems to be related to glibc. Maybe wrong build in CentOS-4 as latest Samba package builded from Fedora devel did not solve the problem. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/beta/show_bug.cgi?id=150582 I will try to reproduce this problem with original RHEL4 ASAP. -- Milan Kerslager E-mail: milan.kerslager@pslib.cz WWW: http://www.pslib.cz/ke/

See the bug report above.I would try downloading the official SRPM for 3.0.11, --rebuild''ing it and giving that a shot. Samba is one of those tools where I deviate from the RedHat supplied RPMS and use the vendor supplied single-binary RPM, so that I can stay on the forefront of the Samba curve. http://us4.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/RedHat/SRPMS/ hth, -te -- Troy Engel | Systems Engineer Fluid, Inc | http://www.fluid.com
