[CentOS-virt] Xen DomU supoprt in RHEL 7 and the CentOS Plan
Hi Guys, so far, in rhel7rc its pretty clear that Xen instances ( domUs ) are not going to boot with the RHEL7rc kernel. Also, i think at this point its a safe bet that these things wont change to GA - no way to accertain that, but its a safe bet ). Wondering if someone has looked into what the challenges might be to enable this support, and then what the options are to deliver this support ? If we can get the stuff staged up, we can work it during the Distro QA stages and target ( potentially ) a in-sync release for Xen support when CentOS7 goes GA - KB -- Karanbir Singh +44-207-0999389 | http://www.karan.org/ | twitter.com/kbsingh GnuPG Key : http://www.karan.org/publickey.asc

Are not KVM and XEN major, and serious business, parts of the RHEL/Centos experience? -- Paul. England, EU. Our systems are exclusively Centos. No Micro$oft Windoze here.

Not to mention Dom0.> Wondering if someone has looked into what the challenges might be to > enable this support, and then what the options are to deliver this support ?I'm sorry, I haven't yet, not even tested RHEL7rc. I just want to raise my hand and say, yes, I would like to have xen support if you can make it happen without too many hooplas. But I won't be able to help much. My minimal testing of the rc doesn't show any problems installing on Xen 4.4 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.0 (Maipo) Kernel 3.10.0-121.el7.x86_64 on an x86_64 localhost login: root Password: [root at localhost ~]# mount -t xenfs none /proc/xen [root at localhost ~]# cat /proc/xen/capabilities [root at localhost ~]# Simon
