Does anyone have a super simple cookbook describing the steps to integrate Mail into an Asterisk Dial Plan. I have googled but have a lot of choppy results. I am running RH and Asterisk 1.8 Cheers Tom

By default (at least in 1.4X) voicemail.conf defines how the Asterisk server will send information to exchange or any other Mail server. The default usage is a simple "sendmail" command. If you want incoming stuff to be processed by asterisk, you would probably set up a daemon in c or some other language to process the information as a "local call". At least in theory, you could have emails to "john at doe.com" processed as incoming calls and the "input" read into voicemail by Cepstral or Festival.
