At 11:31 PM 8/23/2009, you wrote:>If i want to intiate a call to a PSTN number or any mobile number as >we normally do with our phones .... How can i do that with asterisk .....Unless I messed up this uses outgoing DHADI channel 1 to dial 10 digit local numbers with the required 1310 prefix when a 7 digit number is dialed exten => _NXXXXXXX,1,dial(DAHDI/1/1310${EXTEN}) Ira

You might want to replace that extension temporarily with exten => 123,2,Echo() And see if you can hear yourself when you talk -- Cheers, Matt Riddell Director _______________________________________________ http://www.venturevoip.com/news.php (Daily Asterisk News) http://www.venturevoip.com/st.php (SmoothTorque Predictive Dialer) http://www.venturevoip.com/c3.php (ConduIT3 PABX Systems)

Bear in mind that if the latency on the network is low, you might not be able to hear your voice. The other option would be to use the Record application to record something and then the Playback application to play it back. -- Cheers, Matt Riddell Director _______________________________________________ http://www.venturevoip.com/news.php (Daily Asterisk News) http://www.venturevoip.com/st.php (SmoothTorque Predictive Dialer) http://www.venturevoip.com/c3.php (ConduIT3 PABX Systems)

thanks Alot it worked for me using *G(context^exten^pri)*: If the call is answered, transfer both parties to the specified context and extension. The calling party is transferred to priority x, and the called party to priority x+1. This allows the dialplan to distinguish between the calling and called legs of the call (new in v1.2).
