asterisk users - Mar 2009 - T1 issue to analog trunk for paging (intercom)

Hi all

I have a T1 connected and working. Can call cell phones and numbers no 
problem.
I am using call files to place these calls and play wave files.

When the user wants to place a call to the intercom system the call is made,
internally the PBX routes that to an analog trunk. they say the intercom 
system answers
and gives dial tone but I NEVER get T1 signalling that the call was 
answered so I
dont play the wave file.

What can I do about this? How can I get the T1 to see the analog trunk 
was answered?
What shall I do next?
