Hi, I'm looking for a GUI like ARI by LittleJohn Consulting (which is not being maintained actively anymore, but FreePBX seems to include it) so users can login, check cdrs, recordings, call forward, etc. Does anyone know of any such working app that can be integrated into vanilla asterisk? Thanks, Mark -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/attachments/20080908/78072751/attachment.htm

<html><body><span style="font-family:Verdana; color:#000000; font-size:10pt;">David,<br><br>Please don't mind me needing a GUI just for one purpose of vanilla Asterisk. I do have a separate box, which actually runs PBXiaF and I like it a lot.<br><br>However, when a project that big in vanilla has been going on, moving on to something else makes no sense, atleast for now.<br>So, either you could help me get a fix to the problem at hand, or ask me to go buy a Rolls Royce because I can look cool while I go to work. I'd like the second suggestion, but it definitely doesn't help my problem.<br><br>I'd really like someone learned to point me in the right direction please.<br>Thanks,<br>Mark.<br><br><br> <blockquote webmail="1" style="border-left: 2px solid blue; margin-left: 8px; padding-left: 8px; font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: verdana;"> -------- Original Message --------<br> Subject: Re: [asterisk-users] OT: ARI<br> From: "David Backeberg" <dbackeberg@gmail.com><br> Date: Mon, September 08, 2008 9:52 pm<br> To: "Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion"<br> <asterisk-users@lists.digium.com><br> <br>> Because that would mean changing the entire vanilla framework with over 200<br> > users on it.<br><br> I don't know anything about your vanilla framework, or how complicated<br> it is. That said, there are lots of places in FreePBX where you can<br> interject regular vanilla dialplan, you just end up using files with<br> funny names, like extensions_additional.conf rather than<br> extensions.conf<br> <br> Admittedly, I don't do things that way. I have separate systems where<br> GUI is the most important thing, and almost nothing is NOT in FreePBX.<br> Those systems play systems recordings IVR-style, allow searching the<br> CDRs, but don't record calls, and maybe recording calls is what you<br> mean by "recordings". On these machines, the ability of people who<br> weren't Asterisk experts to click around and make changes was the most<br> important thing.<br> <br> The systems that were built vanilla have stayed that way, and have a<br> hand built web gui for the few things that require web gui.<br> <br> _______________________________________________<br> -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by <a href="http://www.api-digital.com" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.api-digital.com">http://www.api-digital.com</a> --<br> <br> AstriCon 2008 - September 22 - 25 Phoenix, Arizona<br> Register Now: <a href="http://www.astricon.net" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.astricon.net">http://www.astricon.net</a><br> <br> asterisk-users mailing list<br> To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit:<br> <a href="http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users" target="_blank" mce_href="http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users">http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users</a><br> </blockquote></span></body></html>
ARI really only let people check their voicemail via a web interface - for CDR's you can install areske cdr interface as that bolts on to vanilla asterisk with a small amount of work. Recordings - how complicated an interface do you need? From memory there's something in the contribs folder that can help you out. With regards to call forwarding - that's a bit more tricky. You need an interface than can affect your dialplan. I know that's not a lot of help, but I'm trying to break it down into chunks, and then cross off the easy chunks first (or the hard ones, depending on your preference and the priority of the chunks) later, PaulH Mark Hamilton wrote:> > Hi, > > > > I?m looking for a GUI like ARI by LittleJohn Consulting (which is not > being maintained actively anymore, but FreePBX seems to include it) so > users can login, check cdrs, recordings, call forward, etc. > > > > Does anyone know of any such working app that can be integrated into > vanilla asterisk? > > > > Thanks, > > Mark > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > _______________________________________________ > -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- > > AstriCon 2008 - September 22 - 25 Phoenix, Arizona > Register Now: http://www.astricon.net > > asterisk-users mailing list > To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
