Anyone else experiencing a slow authentication command. I noticed this command takes about 1.5 - 2 seconds of silence before it asked for password, then another 2 sec of silence before it moves froward after that. What version of Asterisk are you running? The 2 seconds of silence before it moves forward is probably because you haven't set digittimeout and or you are not hitting # when you finish entering your password. What does your dialplan look like that is calling the authenticate command. Please give more information. Any ideasI use Authentication regularly, no delay at all. Post your dialplan example, * version, hardware, more info about your setup. Make sure you answer the call first, before you invoke the authenticate cmd. JR -- JR Richardson Engineering for the Masses
