asterisk users - Oct 2006 - authenticating forwarded calls

Is it possible to set up SER with asterisk so that any INVITE that is
forwarded from SER to asterisk does not need to be authenticated by
asterisk?

Sure, in your sip.conf entry:

[your ser entry]
type=friend
host=<enter ip address>
insecure=port,invite

That last entry will prevent the authentication challenge.
