[asterisk-users] Can anyone recommend a large button sip phone for the elderley.
Hi, Can anyone recommend a large button/type sip phone (VOIP) that an older person could use. I have a client that needs to have large button phones for elderly residents in her facility. Thanks

Chuck - Grandstream GXP-2000, while not designed expressly for the elderly, does have relatively large keypad size. A better fit might be to simply purchase a specialized, analog phone and pair it with an ATA to SIP enable it. Companies such as the one below design phones specifically for this market, and they appear to have additional features, like increased volume and even flashing lights in lieu of a ring. http://www.hearingimpairedphones.com/products/products.html Cory Andrews -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Chuck Bunn Sent: Monday, August 28, 2006 4:23 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: [asterisk-users] Can anyone recommend a large button sip phone forthe elderley. Large buttons, requires a firm press (no nervousness), no fancy features.

Hi Cory, Do you know if any of the ATA to SIP converters that can handle visual indicators (flashing light in addition to ring sound) and for that matter can Asterisk handle visual indicators for ringing? Thanks

I havn't found any phone with bigger buttons. And each time the phone rings, it lights up a dark room. -- Best regards Peer Oliver Schmidt PGP Key ID: 0x83E1C2EA
