I am new to asterisk. After studying the book and the tutorial on the Internet, I am still confued about how to use context for incoming calls. Here is my question: If I create s extensions in two different contexts for incoming calls which one will be used? When a call comes in, which context will asterisk use to search the extension match first? Gary -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It's configured in whatever technology your call comes in on (SIP/IAX2/Zap). -- Joshua Colp Software Developer Digium, Inc.

[asterisk-users] Question about context for incoming calls
You set which context will be used in you sip.conf, iax.conf, or zapata.conf for the specific channel you are using. For example, my zapata.conf for channel 25 has context=incoming which means it should go to the context labeled incoming in my extensions.conf. My PRI channels (1-23) have context=pri-did, so when a call comes in over my PRI, it first goes to the pri-did context in extensions.conf.
