Hi, Has anyone used the cooker RPM for asterisk version 1.2.9? I would like to hear some feedback before I install it. Hi Doug, I thought of that as well. I am not a total n00b with Mandriva, just enough to be dangerous. Do you have any walk throughs that I could use as a guide? Do you create an asterisk user for it to run under? What other software should I install in order for it to not only compile properly but also for asterisk to run. I have not done a lot of compiling in Mandriva. Did you create a directory for it, e.g. /data/asterisk? Here comes a big newbie questions if compiled how would I uninstall it? Alternatively grab its srpm. If it is well-done it should have answered most of your questions: which packages you should install to build asterisk (build-dependencies of the package asterisk), which directories it is installed to, etc. An rpm package is a reproducable and uninstallabe build process. -- Tzafrir Cohen sip:tzafrir@local.xorcom.com icq#16849755 iax:tzafrir@local.xorcom.com +972-50-7952406 tzafrir.cohen@xorcom.com http://www.xorcom.com
