looking for ip phones for an office setting. The client wants about 15 phones initially. Not counting volume discounts, does anyone have any recommendations. Cost is a factor, after discounts they were thinking about $50/phone. The following came up that seem to fit, any experiences with these models would be requested, any that arent on this list would alsso be recommended providing they fit somewhere around the price guideline. most of what is on http://www.voipsupply.com/index.php?cPath=95_105 qualifies for what I am looking for, I just wanted something other than someone who stands to profit off the sale to give personal experiences :) Looking for very good audio quality, no discernable echo, etc. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel UK +44 870 340 4605 Germany +49 801 777 555 3402 US +1 360 207 0479 or +1 516 687 5200 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 http://www.sacaug.org/ Sacramento Asterisk Users Group -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Bret - I have some overstock units of Zultys Zip2 handsets that are brand new that I can offer you for $35/ea. This is well below your target and would allow you a respectable margin. You are going to have a considerable challenge in finding a sub-$50 SIP phone that will pass muster in an office environment, unless your customer is completely clueless and has no preconception of what to expect. You can find information on the Zultys Zip2 here -> http://www.voipsupply.com/product_info.php?products_id=178&osCsid=1ff6c91c3730025a12316ede8108e10c The units I have are white, not black, and are good entry level phones that will hold up in an office setting. They do not have an LCD screen, but for $35/ea you can't expect a lot of eye candy. They do have (2) call appearances, web based configuration, and programmable softkeys. This is a well manufactured unit and I have many clients who have successfully integrated these with Asterisk. It's true, I'd make a couple bucks so take my opinions expressed here for what you deem them worth. The only other SIP phones I know of that could be had around your target price would be something from perhaps Atcom or there are a host of other Asia based manufacturers who make OEM level products, but they are usually quite lacking in terms of documentation and have lower standards in terms of manufacturing quality. These phones tested very well in my lab. Never tested with a customer though. http://www.intellitouch.com/cooler_email/teledynamics/itc_3002.html> _______________________________________________ > --Bandwidth and Colocation sponsored by Easynews.com -- > > Asterisk-Users mailing list > Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users > To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- No virus found in this incoming message. The SPA-841's audio quality is substandard compared to the GXP, and the rubbery buttons/non-backlit screen make it even less attractive. I'd also say the Bugetone 101/102 is also noticably inferior to the GXP in terms of sound quality, and the screen is far less flexible (if you want to rewrite caller ID to show users what number callers have come in on, etc.). I've no experience with Zultys phones I'm afraid. I think $50/phone might be stretching things a little bit too far in terms of price - depends what sort of quantity discount you can get on the number of phones you're looking for I guess. I do know that over here, the quality difference between a ?50 phone and a ?70 phone is much more immediately noticable than the difference between the ?70 phone and the ?200 phone. Hi, Maybe grandstream budgetone 100 series will fulfill your requirement. It's very good for such a cheap sub-50 phone. Once, I've tested and I've found myself that it's a good performer (even it has compatibility problem with old switch in my office :P) You can search the supplier through googling it. Don't ask me as I don't know any information about it. Good luck.. Regards, Stevanus trixter aka Bret McDanel wrote:>looking for ip phones for an office setting. We had 1 way speech on them for a while but the latest firmware seems to have fixed it. The 10mb LAN ports in the back are old too. Also I wouldn't recommend the GXP-2000 either. We have a few here. As a basic phone it's fine but don't try anything fancy like PoE as ours keeps failing and we have to run them off the PSU. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of trixter aka Bret McDanel Sent: 18 November 2005 09:08 To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] ip phone On Fri, 2005-11-18 at 15:04 +0700, stevanus wrote:> Hi, > > Maybe grandstream budgetone 100 series will fulfill your requirement. > It's very good for such a cheap sub-50 phone. > Once, I've tested and I've found myself that it's a good performer > (even it has compatibility problem with old switch in my office :P) > You can search the supplier through googling it. Specifically audio quality is questionable, the power connector that ships is the wrong size so it tends to fall out, there are firmware issues that locks the phone up, etc. Does anyone have any experience with that phone specifically? -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel UK +44 870 340 4605 Germany +49 801 777 555 3402 US +1 360 207 0479 or +1 516 687 5200 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 http://www.sacaug.org/ Sacramento Asterisk Users Group ########################################### This message has been scanned by F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange.
