asterisk users - Nov 2005 - Test environment for a Predictive Dialer

Hello all,

I'm thinking about to set up a test environment for a predictive dialler
with two asterisk machines. Each Asterisk should use a Digium TE110P card.
One machine should work as predictive dialler; the other box should simulate
the PSTN.

- Is it in general possible to interconnect the two asterisk machines in
that way? Do I need any hardware in between to connect the two TE110P cards?


- Can I simulate the PSTN with a Digium TE110P card?

Yes, you can connect the 2 together using a T1 crossover (check google 
and the wiki I believe).

Hello,

Yes, we have this kind of test setup in our office using a quad T1
card in each of two servers and cross-connecting each T1 to the other
to test VICIDIAL for performance and compatibility.

A few notes, if you are going to use a PRI between the two servers
make sure you set one to pri_cpe and the other to pri_net. If you use
RBS T1s, they can have identical settings on each server.

Hi  Markus
I did the same to test one application on intelligent cards from
Pikatechnologies. I had no E1 in office so I set up one Asterisk box with
TE110P to simulate a CO.
The only thing is to change support for protocol.
In ZAPATA.CONF of one system use(the real PABX):

signalling = bri_cpe

on the other(the CO simulator)

signalling = bri_net

Then use a cross E1 cable.
