asterisk users - Oct 2005 - intergration with Nortel Meridian 81c

I currently have a Meridian 81c with a spare t1 port on an nt5d12a card.
I would like to use this to interface to asterisk to support ip phones.
I am new to this so any help and recommendations on hardware and
Meridian configuration would be appreciated.
