[Asterisk-Users] Sipura SPA-841 Volume Oscillation Problem
Hi all, The problem is on the volume of the voice sent by the SPA-841. I think the echo cancel algorithm sets a limit to the microphone when detects sounds or noise from the earphone. This problem generates an oscillation on the voice volume sent by the phone and even turns it off completely for very little lapses of time making the communication very uncomfortable. I manage three different implementations with Asterisk and Sipura SPA-841 on different clients and network topologies, and on every one we are experiencing the same situation. [Asterisk-Users] Sipura SPA-841 Volume Oscillation Problem
Greetings, I'm experiencing the same problem. It manifests itself mostly in noisy environments - as soon as there is some increase of the ambient noise the volume in the headpiece or the "speakerphone" decreases immediately, and starts to randomly increase/decrease for some time after the ambient noise gets low. This is 100% repeatable if you start the conversation by using speakerphone. As soon as you switch to the handset, the defect disappears. Now the problem is that 5% of calls via headset have the same problem. I am using the latest firmware for the SPA-841. [Asterisk-Users] RE: Sipura SPA-841 Volume Oscillation Problem
The firmware sipura are currently offering is pretty awful. We bought 60 of these and our supplier in the UK was able to document and diagnose the problem. Sipura were then able to produce an updated firmware that made them sound almost like normal phones again. There is still a slight echo but the volume fluctuation and the echo during doubletalk is now gone. the version is 03-01-03-a-0623j. You should be able to request it from sipura directly. If you can't, let me know and i'll have a word with my suppliers here. robbie On 8 Jul 2005, at 00:41, asterisk-users-request@lists.digium.com wrote:> Hi all, > > > > The problem is on the volume of the voice sent by the SPA-841. Yes i we know it but as it is an intermediate patched version i think it's better way for the final release A++> -----Message d'origine----- > De : Javier Ergas [mailto:jergas@gmx.net] > Envoy? : vendredi 8 juillet 2005 18:51 > ? : twehr@japet.com > Objet : RE: [Asterisk-Users] Sipura SPA-841 Volume Oscillation Problem > > Thank you very much. [Asterisk-Users] RE: Sipura SPA-841 Volume Oscillation Problem
Greetings, We installed a number of SPA-841 in a office environment, originally firmware was 0.9 something and the audio in the headsets worked really well, with virtually no muting of received audio. When I first upgraded a couple of the phones to 3.1.2 the headset audio went to crap, muting incoming audio with any sort of background noise in the room. Speaker phone is totally useless (any sort of room noise-including incoming audio mutes the speaker) so I disconnected the internal microphone and just use the speakerphone mode as a monitor for off hook dialing. Recently upgraded to the new release of 3.1.3 didn't make the headset audio any better (but also didn't seem to make it any worse as some people on the list seem to have observed) We where using the couple of units with 0.9 something for the telephonists with headsets, but the phones crashed a number of times & I had to update to the latest firmware now their headsets are pretty much un-usable. I was going to make up an adapter to hook the headset through the handset port as handset audio doesn't seem to go through the same muting problems, but this sort of defeats the purpose of having a simple phone, with speaker (monitor) mode, handset and headset modes built in. Suspect if the put in an option to turn off the audio muting for the headset it would fix our problem, but we are probably going to have to bite the bullet and put a couple of Cisco 7960 in for the headset wearers. cr Message: 2 Date: Fri, 8 Jul 2005 18:57:34 +0200 From: "Thierry Wehr" <wehr@japet.com> Subject: RE: [Asterisk-Users] Sipura SPA-841 Volume Oscillation Problem To: <asterisk-users@lists.digium.com> Message-ID: <20050708165738.7B2CE74FC5@mail.lirbox.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Yes i we know it but as it is an intermediate patched version i think it's better way for the final release A++> -----Message d'origine----- > De : Javier Ergas [mailto:jergas@gmx.net] > Envoy? : vendredi 8 juillet 2005 18:51 > ? : twehr@japet.com > Objet : RE: [Asterisk-Users] Sipura SPA-841 Volume Oscillation Problem > > Thank you very much.
