asterisk users - Apr 2005 - can asterisk send AT commands to a modem?

Can asterisk send AT commands to a modem?

If so, how?

I have two ISDN cards (with i4l - capi4linux doesn't work with them), 
and would like to specify which card to choose for dialing out (without 
it, i4l uses first free /dev/ttyI device).
